Re:63 Thundervolt

I forgot to include the idea about some us building  Cars like the lincvolt for the purpose of spreading the Gospel so to speak.I think Chrysler tried to do with with 63 Turbine car I saw at the world fair.I would like to try making one from a 63 t-bird. Also If these cars were to appear at say Events like the Goodguys events and the Charlotte auto fair In September many more people would be exposed to them In person.Like i was when i saw the Turbine Car at the worlds fair in 64 iI've never forgotten the impression it made on me.Many younger Kids might be inspired to  Enter the field.Or pursue enginerring in those directions..
I've been fooling around with old detroit iron since I was a kid..I 'd love to see more of them around and I think its kind of Disrespecrful to saw things like it a Rich Rock Musicians conspiracy toy. Thanks neil for having the iea and the will and the dream to pursue it..

I like the idea of the Lincvolt/Thundervolt...etc...the idea of getting young inventors and engineers/designers...anyone traditionally involved in the Automotive field.  Car show's such as the Good Guys are a place where AMERICA comes to see Americana.  It's a perfect platform to promote (I hate the cliche) GREEN AWARENESS.  One of the problems I forsee is the fact that the LincVolt does not have dual exhaust notes.  I just bought a Harley Davidson (MADE IN AMERICA!!!) and so much of it's appeal is the brashness of the motor and the sound...Oh My God...the sound!!!  Visually, I like the LincVolt.  Problem...it's too damn expensive to mass produce in any form that I'd like or more importat, BUY!  If I had a hundred grand to blow maybe.  But I want a freakin car that say's America.  I want a Model T, a VW...Peoples car.  One that exudes AMERICA!!!  It has to be cool.  It has to be powerful.  It has to be obnoxious.  It has to get good gas mileage.  24-35MPG today is laughable.  I want a car that gets 50+ MPG.  Keep in mind.  I own a bicycle shop.  I love high gas prices.  Also keep in mind I put my house where my mouth is.  I quit my job at Boeing and I work three blocks from my shop.  I ride my bike, (bicycle/moped/Harley) to work every day.  I no longer am clogging the roads, or polluting the air or giving Washington DC any reason to go to war for oil.

On this note: there are more important fundemental issues besides LincVolt/ThunderVolt cars.  People need to Boycott Oil.

WALK...Bike...get a job closer to home, move closer to work, commute with a friend, ride the bus, the train, get out of you friggen car.

But that is all just the tip of the iceburg.  Companies need to give their employee's more time off.  Time is even more scarce than oil.  More valualbe than gold.  you can't ever buy time.  So people cut corners to SAVE TIME!!!  driving a one ton truck to work with no riders...just so they can take off and go home any time they want too.  I worked on the assembly line at Boeing for 18 years.  Just about from day one, I noticed that if I was motivated, I could get done 8 hours worth of work in 6...IF I WANTED TO>>>  Problem is there is absolutely no reason to do so.  Company's like Boeing need to get real.  I would have taken a cut in pay...I would have got more done...not taken so many sick leave days,   Work takes too much damn TIME!  THe only thing I didn't like about my job at Boeing is that I had to be there.

This is so complex...big business is at the core of the problem and politicians are in the pocket of big business so I am a bit negative on hopes that anything will ever be righted.  Thinking green used to be a badge of honor.  Now it's just a word that people say and big business just yawns,..in bordom.
